BEE Electric Scooter Concept by ÍCON: Brazilian Urban Mobility & Industrial Design
How to Transform an Existing Platform into a Product Ready to Engage with the Future of Electric Mobility in Brazil? It was from this question that our collaboration with Alan Motors, under the BEE brand, began — redefining the concept of their new electric scooter. This project merged strategy, identity, and the real need to create a product ready for the market.
A NEW CHAPTER, BUILT ON REAL FOUNDATIONS
From the very beginning, we knew this would not be an abstract project or disconnected from production realities. We worked with an existing Chinese platform — its dimensions, structure, engineering, and real limitations. No “blue sky” thinking here: every decision had to respect what was already there, while still pushing beyond. Our goal was clear: to update, modernize, and translate the product for the Brazilian market.

BUILT WITH PURPOSE
Our first few weeks were spent on intensive diagnostics. We assessed possibilities, identified critical points, examined adaptation margins, and explored areas where we could inject a new visual identity. This deep technical dive guided the development of a concept that aimed not just to be different, but to make sense for BEE’s target audience.

POWERED BY COLLABORATION
Throughout the process, our close relationship with Alan Motors was essential. We maintained a routine of validation, direct discussions, and joint decision-making. Nothing was imposed — everything was built together. The balance between commercial demands, production viability, and design language shaped every adjustment.

MODERN TOOLS, REAL PRACTICE
To expand the potential of the platform, we combined 3D visualization, digital modeling, and technical reviews with straightforward and practical processes: quick conversations, direct sketches, and precise comparisons between what was desired and what was possible. The intersection between current technologies and traditional methods made the development more agile and precise.

A NEW IDENTITY FOR BEE
The redesign brought revisited surfaces, enhanced proportions, and a visual language more aligned with the Brazilian urban market. We sought to strengthen the scooter’s personality without creating incompatibilities with the existing tools or structures in China. The goal was not to break away — but to evolve.

MODELING AS A BRIDGE BETWEEN BRAZIL AND CHINA
Once the concept was approved, we moved to full digital modeling. This was the point of convergence between design and industrial reality. We adjusted interfaces, refined volumes, and structured clear, objective files for communication with the Chinese production team, ensuring mutual understanding and minimizing rework.

STRATEGIC VISUALIZATION
We created detailed visual materials for internal presentations, executive alignments, and commercial evaluations. These representations helped Alan Motors plan the launch, negotiate with partners, and visualize how the product would position itself within the brand’s portfolio.

BUILT WITH MANY HANDS
This project was, above all, a story of collaboration. Designers, engineers, and teams from different countries worked together to bring the concept to life — always with clarity, transparency, and a focus on the final objective.

READY FOR BRAZIL’S ELECTRIC ROAD
The result is a renewed electric scooter concept, with its own identity, compatible with the existing structural base, and ready for production in China. A solid product, coherent with the market, and aligned with BEE’s expansion plan. More than just a design, we created a clear direction for the future of the brand in urban electric mobility.
